NEW ISSUE NOW AVAILABLE
Our July 2008 issue continues our series of interviews with non-profit organizations working for the good of animals and the environment. This time around, we've included two interviews with National Wildlife Federation and Defenders of Wildlife.
Also featured in this issue is an interview with Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory fame whom we interviewed a few years ago. This time he's promoting his brand new band, Ascension of the Watchers, so we got to talk about what inspired such a change in his musical output. We then got a little political with Colin Davis of Vile, who is our favorite conspiracy theorist (read his blogs at
www.myspace.com/vile to see what we mean).
But the most important part of this issue is the Vent column, which is a tribute to George Carlin, whose death leaves us with a huge void and so much sadness. Rob and I grew up with Carlin, who made us laugh and taught us so much through his political and social commentary while inspiring us with his amazing writing and performing abilities. We looked up to him as a hero, and still do even though he's gone, and he's had such a major impact on our lives that we will never forget him, and it's so hard to imagine what life will be like without a new HBO special or new book from him ever again. Even though we had hopes of someday meeting him and telling him just how much of a genius we thought he was and how much we loved him, we do feel blessed to have seen him less than a month before his death when he performed live in NJ and we had 2nd row seats (and forgot to take pictures with our cell phones probably because we were too busy taking it all in). A great thinker and entertainer is gone but he'll live on always, and his legacy has left an indelible mark on American society. His words will teach us for many years to come; they will never lose their power or their relevance. George Carlin, we hope you're having a great time up there with all the greats who went before you; we hope to see you again someday.

Al Jourgensen and Ministry's Gift to the Fans of Chicago Blackhawks Hockey
The resurging Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team has no bigger fan than Al Jourgensen, the "Mayor of Chicago's Underground," the godfather of the industrial music scene, and founder and lead singer of the legendary rock band Ministry. As the 2007/2008 Blackhawks team makes its push for the 2008 playoffs, its fans now have another great sports anthem, courtesy of Al and his co-conspirators in Ministry. "Keys To The City," a rock anthem sure to inspire Blackhawks fans worldwide, will debut on March 5, 2008. As part of the debut, 200 lucky fans of Ministry and the Blackhawks will win tickets to see the March 5 game.
Born in Cuba and having immigrated to the U.S. at the age of two, Jourgensen was raised in Colorado and Chicago, settling in the Windy City in the late 1970s. As a youth, Al would attend Chicago Blackhawks Hockey games watching from the upper balcony at the old Chicago Stadium. After founding the industrial metal rock band in 1980, and as the band gained popularity, Al graduated to season tickets in the main bowl. Living now in El Paso, TX, Al still gets back to Chicago from time to time to watch his beloved Blackhawks and is a worldwide evangelist for the team, often sporting his Blackhawks jersey on tour.
Last fall, as the buzz began to build around the new, young Blackhawks team, Jourgensen decided he wanted to add to the momentum. In his studios rehearsing for their farewell tour, Al picked up on a guitar riff that hadn't made his final album and started building what would become "Keys to the City," a sports rock anthem that he presented as a gift to the Wirtz family and the Chicago Blackhawks in December of 2007. The Blackhawks have since embraced the song as a great opportunity to reach out to a new generation of Blackhawks fans; a worthy companion to the team's official theme song, "Here Come The Hawks."
"The Chicago Blackhawks RULE!" said Al Jourgensen. "I am honored to be a part of the history and legend of one of hockey's Original Six. I hope 'Keys to The City' inspires some awesome fights on the ice."
Keys to the City
Though containing trademark intensity and guitar riffs, "Keys to the City" is less a traditional Ministry song, but more a classic sports anthem in structure. Built around a drum/bass line that recalls Garry Glitter's "Rock n' Roll Pt 2," the song is a rallying cry for Blackhawk fans. Name checking the past Hawk greats like Hull, Mikita, Esposito and Savard, the song celebrates the resurgence of the Blackhawks and the quest to bring home the Stanley Cup to Chicago. It is already popular among the young Blackhawks players upon which the team is building its future championships.
March 5 Debut
Al Jourgensen will travel to Chicago for the March 5 debut of the song. After a day of media interviews supporting the song and Ministry's farewell tour, which comes to Chicago's House of Blues in early May, Jourgensen and his wife will be the guest of the Blackhawks at the game that night and will participate in game festivities. As part of the day's promotions, 200 fans of Ministry and the Blackhawks will get free tickets to the televised March 5 home game against the Anaheim Ducks. Details on how to win the tickets will be posted at ChicagoBlackhawks.com. "Keys to the City" will be available for download via iTunes, and as a link from ChicagoBlackhawks.com, starting March 5. Proceeds from the song will benefit the Blackhawks charities. To purchase tickets to the March 5 Blackhawks game, visit

ANIMOSITY to tour the East Coast with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and a full U.S. tour with FIRST BLOOD!
Bay Area based extreme metal band Animosity joins forces with hardcore heavy-weights First Blood (Trustkill) for a full U.S. tour, raging even as far as Canada. Prior to touring with First Blood, Animosity will tour a short East Coast stint with The Black Dahlia Murder (Metal Blade).
Animosity first hit the scene in 2000, when most of the members were only 15 years old, with a blistering brand of death metal/hardcore that sought to defy stereotypes and spit in the face of the mainstream. Almost 2 years after their Black Market Activities debut, Animosity is back and poised to showcase their tremendous talent and growth with “Animal”.
Musically, “Animal” shows an enormous progression from their prior releases. The album is themed on the frailty of our lives as animals in a violent and turbulent world. Dealing with the loss of loved ones and feeling disenchanted with a seemingly unfair environment, ‘Animal’ is Animosity’s most personally reflective and outwardly aggressive creation to date. The subject matter of the album strikes an emotional chord as it was written in the aftermath of vocalist, Leo Miller losing his girlfriend to a runaway drunk driver.

Never Enough: Rare Acoustic Footage Now Online
Frontman, Norman Matthews, has checked in after the group performed two intimate acoustic sets for fans in Orange County and El Paso:
"The in stores were amazing! It was great to kick things off in our hometowns of Orange County, CA and El Paso, TX," says Matthews. "It was also nice to get personal with the fans and be able to perform so close, not only physically, but emotionally. My grandfather passed away as I arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday, so the acoustic performances for me were without a doubt extremely emotional, especially when we closed the sets with 'Hush'. At one point I fought back the tears. The best thing was, this is only the beginning. World, prepare for NEVER ENOUGH."

SLAYER GETS THIRD GRAMMY NOMINATION
With at least one foot planted firmly in Hell, N.A.R.A.S. members have nominated SLAYER, the acknowledged kings of extreme speed/thrash/punk-metal, for their third Grammy Award. The Slayer track, "The Final Six," from the band's 2007 Limited Edition "Christ Illusion," was nominated in the category of "Best Metal Performance."
"The Final Six," written by Slayer's vocalist/bassist Tom Araya and guitarist Jeff Hanneman and produced by Josh Abraham, is a chilling look at an hypothesized end of the world. The song made its debut last July as the Single of the Week on MySpace where it has since accumulated some 750,000 plays, an astounding number for a song that received no commercial airplay.
"When I first got the word, I thought someone was playing a joke," mused Araya. "But obviously, we've made an impression on the industry. The people at the upper levels have taken notice of what we've done, and that's awesome."
Slayer's two previous Grammy nominations were for 2002's "Disciple" from the album "God Hates Us All," and last year's "Eyes of the Insane," for which they took home the Grammy Award.
Right after the New Year, Slayer plans to start working on new material for their eleventh studio album, intended for a 2008 release, and will tour the world to support it. "I'm excited to see where the new music will go, how it's going to sound, what the total writing and recording experience will be like. I'm sure it will be like the one for 'Christ Illusion' - great!"

SOAD's ODADJIAN JOINS WITH HANS ZIMMER AND The RZA TO SCORE FIRST FEATURE FILM
Shavo Odadjian, music video director, DJ, and bassist for the multi-Platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band System of a Down, will add film scorer to his list of credits with his work on the upcoming sci-fi/thriller feature film, "Babylon AD," starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and Gerard Depardieu. The film is being directed by Cannes Award winning French director Mathieu Kassovitz ("La Haine/Hate"), and will be released over the Labor Day Weekend, 2008.
Working closely on the score with Academy Awarding winning composer Hans Zimmer and composer Atli Orvarsson, Odadjian is collaborating with writing/scoring partner, Wu-Tang Clan's The RZA, writing and scoring several tracks for "Babylon AD," as well as various "futuristic-specific" musical themes and orchestration throughout the film. "Musically, our objective was to merge the sounds and energies of hip hop with classical music, seamlessly melting them into an unusual soundscape," explained Zimmer. "Shavo's unique talent, perspective and ability have achieved exactly that, and then some."
Much of the music for the score is being performed by Achozen, the musical alliance formed by Odadjian and The RZA.
As bassist for System of a Down, Odadjian has seen every one of the band's five albums hit the Platinum mark with three debuting at #1 on Billboard's Albums charts, and has sold in excess of 10-milliion albums in the U.S. alone. He has written and/or directed the music videos for the band's "Toxicity," "Aerials," "Question" and "Hypnotize," and earlier this year, wrote and directed the Bad Brains video for the song, "Give Thanks and Praises."

Onesidezero - Brett Kane, rejoins band
Onesidezero have announced the addition of original guitarist, Brett Kane, to the group for select tour cycles. Kane has re-joined the band, along with guitarist Colin Crow, who will be filling in on the West Coast tour dates currently underway.
"It's great to be jamming with Brett again. He's a huge part of our sound and is a great performer," says drummer Rob Basile. "I've missed his random noises and trippy affects. He also never fails to give the worst "stink eye" if someone trainwrecks at a show! As for Colin, he's an old friend and former member of the band Allergic. It's been a pleasure having him jam with us, and it feels like old Onesidezero again! Come check it out!"
"It's been great having Brett back in the band. It's like he never left. One forgets how important his parts are and then realizes how much more depth the song has when he is playing," added bassist Cristian Hernandez. "Colin is a great guitarist. Having Colin in the band is like a breath of fresh air, he's been able to cover all the parts and has even added his own style to them, so it's almost like hearing the song for the first time again."
The band has announced a short tour of the West Coast to round out the year, before embarking on a European tour alongside ADEMA and RE:IGNITION in early 2008.

Buckcherry has recently announced its milestone 300th live show in support of their most recent album, "15," slated for December 15th at Las Vegas' House of Blues. The show marks the end of an amazing year for the band - "15" has proven a triumph, spending a remarkable 82 weeks on the Billboard 200 on its way towards RIAA platinum certification for sales above 1 million units. "Sorry," the fifth and most recent single, is currently ascending the top 25 at Hot AC outlets nationwide, and the album's first blockbuster hit single, "Crazy Bitch" earned the band a 2007 Grammy Awards nomination in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category. Never Enough - To The Bottom - Mp3 Download
Never Enough, featuring ex-members of Eighteen Visions and Lylah, have posted a free Mp3 download of the track "To The Bottom" online through the Corporate Punishment Podcast at the following location:
http://corporatepunishment.libsyn.com/
The track comes from Never Enough's debut, self-titled album ("1.0") which will be available digitally through iTunes and other major digital retailers on November 20th and in stores on December 4th, 2007. The band is currently offering fans a free Never Enough t-shirt to anyone who pre-orders the album through the Corporate Punishment Records website at the following location
http://www.corporatepunishment.com/shop/index.php?manufacturers_id=28
When asked about the song, front-man Norman Matthews called it, "Heavy, killer, hook laden guitars with a huge chorus. For me, the song is about people only seeing on the surface, not digging deeper to find out what is really going on with someone. A lot of times we mask our true feelings, but deep inside we are an ocean unto ourselves, deeps seas of emotions longing for someone or something to dig deep and save you."
Never Enough recently teamed up with Ultimate Guitar to release behind the scenes video footage on the set of group's upcoming "Devil I Am" video. The video footage can be seen at the following location

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE TO RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM, "SCREAM AIM FIRE," ON JANUARY 29, 2008
Having spent most of the last two years taking over the world with massive UK, European, U.S. and worldwide headline tours, supporting Guns N Roses, Metallica and Iron Maiden, playing Main Stage at almost every rock festival across the world, and seeing their 2006 debut album, "The Poison" - an album London's daily The Sun called "One of the finest debut albums in rock history" - sail past the million sales mark (350,000 in the U.S. alone), BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is set to return with album number two, "Scream Aim Fire," set for release in the U.S. on January 29, 2008 (Jive/SonyBMG).
"Scream Aim Fire" was produced by Colin Richardson (Machinehead, Funeral For A Friend) who also produced "The Poison," and was recorded at Sonic Ranch near El Paso, TX earlier this year. The eleven new songs are, according to frontman Matthew Tuck, "really melodic heavy metal...catchy, hooky choruses and full-on vocals, with the music being very in-your-face and heavy...it's a lot more uptempo [than 'The Poison'], a lot more aggressive."
An exclusive 15-minute digital single - a special sneak preview of "Scream Aim Fire" - will be available for download beginning December 18. Two of the album's tracks, "Eye of the Storm" plus the title track will be included, along with the band's Matt and Moose providing a behind-the-scenes track-by-track commentary about the album. The "Scream Aim Fire" digital single will sell for $1.98 and be available through all the major digital media services (iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc.).
The four-piece metal core band from Bridgend, South Wales, UK - Matthew "Matt" Tuck/vocals, Michael "Padge" Paget/Guitar, Michael "Moose" Thomas/drums, and Jason "Jay" James/Bass - are, according to the UK's Kerrang!, well on their way to "phase two of world domination" with the new disc. For "The Poison," Bullet For My Valentine graced the covers - at least once - of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, and Metal Hammer. In addition, they won Metal Hammer's 2006 "Golden God Award" for Best British Band, and the 2006 Kerrang! Award for "Best UK Single" for their track "Tears Don't Fall." Here in America, the band was named "British Import of the Year" in Revolver, and "The Poison" generated the hit singles "Tears Don't Fall" and "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)," with the video for "All These Things I Hate" going to the #1 spot on MTV2.
Bullet For My Valentine will headline a tour of the UK and Europe starting in late January, and will then head to the U.S. in late February. Details to be announces shortly.
Full track listing for "Scream Aim Fire" is as follows:

MINISTRY SAYS "C U LaTouR" - WORLD TOUR STARTS MARCH, 2008
On the heels of their final studio release, "The Last Sucker," released September 18, 2007, MINISTRY announces their final world tour, "C U LaTouR," with Special Guests Meshuggah and opening act Hemlock. Ministry kicks off the North American leg of "C U LaTouR" in Vancouver on March 28, 2008, stopping in a limited engagement 33 major market cities through mid-May, ending the U.S. leg in Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen's home town of Chicago. Ministry then heads off to play the principal European festivals as well as choice club dates beginning late May stretching through to July.
Exclusive pre-sale tickets for the North American "C U LaTouR," offered by Music Today, go on sale this Thursday, November 15 and can be purchased here www.ministry.tickets.musictoday.com, as of Thursday. Exclusive Special Limited Access VIP tickets will also be available for purchase via the pre-sale, offering advance doors, seating, meet & greets and souvenir 13th Planet gift bags.
The "C U LaTouR" touring line-up features Ministry's founder Al Jourgensen being joined onstage by guitarists Tommy Victor (Prong) and Sin Quirin (Revolting Cocks), keyboardist John Bechdel (Prong, AoTW, False Icons), and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Alice Cooper). Static X's Tony Campos has recently stepped in to fulfill bass on behalf of the recently departed Ministry/Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven. Joining the Ministry clan as Special Featured Artist will be Fear Factory/Ascension of The Watchers vocalist Burton C. Bell. Main support is Swedish experimental metal Meshuggah and opening act is the U.S.-based Hemlock.
To coincide with "C U LaTouR," Jourgensen's indie imprint is scheduled to release Ministry & Co-Conspirators "Cover Up," a 12-track covers release featuring artists from the 13th Planet Records family, as well as other special guests. "Cover Up" is scheduled for a late March/early April 2008 release.
For its spectacular two-and-a-half-hour "C U LaTouR" set, Ministry will perform tracks from "The Last Sucker" as well as songs that revisit the band's rich and provocative 30-year musical history. Archival Ministry videos plus other visual elements of alchemy, Christianity, politics and other topics aligned with Ministry will be incorporated into a special video presentation, produced by "Wicked Lake" director Zach Passero (with whom Jourgensen is collaborating on the soundtrack for the feature film) that will change night to night. And, as is expected from a Ministry show, you just never know what surprise guests will jump on stage for a song or two.
"A Ministry tour is a traveling circus," states Jourgensen. "When we roll into town, everyone hides their daughters, but the freaks roll out the red carpet and a friend or two pops up on stage to add some spice and mayhem to the show. We never know who's gonna walk through the dressing room door at sound check. We rehearse a bunch of 'extra' songs just in case so-and-so shows up..."

KOCH RECORDING ARTISTS WITHIN CHAOS ESCAPE A BRUSH WITH DEATH!
While on their way to perform live at the this years’ CMJ festival in New York City, just
days ago, KOCH recording artists, Within Chaos were traveling in their RV through the Smokey
Mountains on Interstate 40 around Baileyton, Tennessee when smoke started leaking into the back of
the vehicle. The band’s bassist, Jim Taylor was driving the RV at the time, didn’t notice it for a
while, but when he did, he pulled over immediately into the shoulder. The rest of the members were
asleep. Once he noticed the smoke puffing out from right behind the back right wheel, he
immediately woke the rest of the guys up!
Within Chaos frontman, Danny Reid stated “A UPS driver that was driving by pulled over,
ran to the RV with his fire extinguisher and sprayed it into the area where he saw the smoke coming
from. A cop also happened to drive by and ran up with a fire extinguisher. Right about then, a flame
shot out of a vent in the side of the vehicle, and a thick white cloud of smoke followed. The fire
extinguisher wasn’t working at all. At this point, we were sure the thing was going up, and Jim
ducked in to see if he could salvage anything. There was too much smoke filling the space for him to
see anything, except for the fire completely engulfing the bed that guitarist Jason Huggett was
sleeping on just a minute earlier. We all took off about 100 feet away from the fire, and watched it
burn our transportation, clothes, food, money, guitars, etc.., hoping the fire wouldn’t spread to our
trailer and burn ALL the equipment. The fire department pulled up in three trucks, completely
stopped all traffic and put the fire out before it ever got to our trailer. But as you can see from the
photos, it burned everything but the metal in the RV!”
Drummer Travis Denham & Jason both went to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation, they
were given tests, and fortunately all checked out fine. Thanks to that all who helped. Also, because
after the band had lost everything (including their shelter) in the fire, the Red Cross put the band up
in a hotel for the night and even gave them a bit of money to buy some clothes. Determined to make
it to CMJ, the Texan boys rented a U-Haul and headed straight up to New York and played their
show. As the saying goes.. The show must go on! Now that’s Metal!

Ghost Machine guitarist reveals band has 33 songs ready for next album
Ghost Machine guitarist John Stevens (ex-Clay People) has revealed more details about the creation of the group's debut album and the group's follow-up album, which is slated for release sometime in 2008.
"The entire process of the Hypersensitive album took place either in my studio at my house, except for the drums, which we needed a facility that would properly capture the drum tones. We recorded them at Assembly Line studios in Vienna, VA, and Orange Whip in Santa Barbara, Ca" says Ghost Machine guitarist John Stevens. "In comparison to the last release, this one was carrying the weight of a lot of baggage from our lives. The music for Edification was about my ex, my kid, my life. This whole album was very personal for all of us. It was the perfect chance for Ivan and I to disclose and say goodbye to some personal demons we both carry. Strange how 95% of our material starts out as an insightful instrumental that I write to listen to by myself, but the most tracks that are most impacting were "Sheltered" and "Vegas", which were generated from Wingnut and Crispy respectively. But it's really about honesty. We can't hide the who we are."
Ghost Machine, which also features Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody and former Motograter drummer Chris "Crispy" Binns, recently released the band's d ebut album Hypersensitive on Corporate Punishment Records. The album engineered and co-produced by Pete Murray (Ultraspank, Lo-Pro) and draws from a wide range of influences that range from like NINE INCH NAILS, THE CURE, PINK FLOYD, ALICE IN CHAINS, TOOL and MINISTRY.
"The new CD is written and ready for studio. It's the most incredible stuff I've ever been involved with or written. We have yet to choose from 33 tracks which ones are going to represent our lives at this time." says Stevens. "It will be a double disc, with full band input as opposed to the last two releases being more of a directed out of my studio with Ivan. We are going to do full band rehearsals and get everyone involved. We are also looking at a few different producers to work with on many different songs to keep the sound vibrant, different and well rounded. The self titled and Hypersensitive albums were mainly produced by me, but this time we want to find more outside perspectives that have the same vision we do then see what happens with the end result."

SILVERCHAIR SWEEPS ARIAS (Australian Grammy® Awards) TO BECOME ALL TIME AWARD LEADERS IN ARIA HISTORY WITH 19 TOTAL AWARDS!
Silverchair swept the 2007 ARIA Awards in Sydney last night. They won five ARIAs - more than any other artist this year. Most significantly the band took out the prestigious Album Of The Year award for their acclaimed Young Modern. While they've had five chart-topping albums over their career, this was actually the first time that any Silverchair release has received that honor.
They received the following awards:
Album Of The Year
Best Group
Single Of The Year
Best Rock Album
Highest Selling Single
This extraordinary achievement makes Silverchair the most successful artist in the entire history of the ARIA Awards. Last night's haul took the band's career tally to 19 eclipsing John Farnham's previous record of 18 career gongs. Silverchair opened the Awards telecast with a memorable performance of "Straight Lines" and set the tone for a very special night that cemented Silverchair in their rightful place as one of the most acclaimed and successful bands in Australian music history
The ARIAs capped the busiest few months of the band's entire career. They have toured non-stop over the last 16 weeks racking up nearly 60 shows around the world including international festival appearances and their hugely successful "Across The Great Divide" tour with co-headliners, Powderfinger. WIND-UP RECORDS’ FINGER ELEVEN ACHIEVES CROSS-OVER SMASH WITH “PARALYZER”
PARALYZER” RINGTONE / RINGBACK AND FULL-SONG DOWNLOAD SALES UP WEEKLY ACROSS THE BOARD WITH STRONG SUPPORT FROM VERIZON WIRELESS
Finger Eleven’s fourth album on Wind-up Records THEM VS. YOU VS. ME has delivered the band’s second crossover hit with “Paralyzer.” The song achieved the number one position on the Alternative, Active and Mainstream Rock charts. Subsequently, “Paralyzer” has crossed over to CHR, where it stands at 22 this week, and is a hit at HAC, where it continues to move towards the top ten at 16 with a bullet.
In a market where ringtone and ringback tone success is heavily owned by the urban worlds of rap and hip-hop, the song is an example of where the mobile and on-line space can help propel the rock genre. An early indicator of the enormity of the song’s popularity came via Verizon Wireless shortly after the company entered into a distribution deal with Wind-up Records.
Well before “Paralyzer” began its climb to the top of the charts, organic interest in Finger Eleven, and the song, emerged from Verizon Wireless customers. The ringtone / ringback tone began its rise as a limited time exclusive offering from Verizon Wireless, and as early as April, 2007 it entered the Top 40 of the mobile leader’s chart, well before the song crossed to pop radio. With continued support, the song has continued its popularity with Verizon Wireless customers reaching the top 10 on the Tones What’s Hot Chart.
Wind-up Records Chief Operating Officer / Executive Vice-President of Business and Legal Affairs Jim Cooperman shared, “Paralyzer’s success in the mobile space, coupled with the fact that the song imminently will be certified as a Gold download, demonstrates that the digital space remains a fertile landscape for the rock genre and we see tremendous opportunity for growth in this area. We are grateful to our digital partners such as Verizon Wireless for providing Wind-up and its artists with a level playing field in which to compete.”
“The instant popularity of ‘Paralyzer’ proves that mobile first is an effective way to reach music lovers of all ages and interests,” said Ed Ruth, director of music for Verizon Wireless. “Verizon continues its leadership role in music by allowing music fans to discover and download a wide range of music anytime, anywhere.”
The relationship between both companies continues to deliver glimpses of a successful case study of the future of the record business. Wind-up Records’ latest phase of marketing around Finger Eleven’s headline tour of the U.S. tagged Verizon Wireless in the television and on-line advertising rather than a traditional retailer. The call to action in the spots and the ad drove Verizon Wireless customers with V CAST Music-capable phones to text F11 to 8910 for direct access to Finger Eleven music. At the same time, Verizon Wireless ran an artist feature promoting “Paralyzer” and other songs from the band’s repertoire delivering a 94% increase in tone sales as a result.

Faber Drive paged to "Surgery"
Canadian quartet Faber Drive’s debut album, Seven Second Surgery, is in stores today. The album features the singles "Tongue Tied” and "Second Chance."
Faber Drive got their first break when lead singer/guitarist, Faber, submitted a song to a Vancouver radio station’s battle of the bands in 2006. The band won the competition and soon the pieces started coming together. Faber Drive hooked up with Hinder producer Brian Howes and Nickelback producer Joey Moi, who were blown away by Faber’s acoustic demos. Howes asked if he could co-write with Faber and Moi offered to start preproduction. Faber Drive wrote Seven Second Surgery while on the road with fellow Canadian rockers, Headly, and in Moi’s studio.

SEETHER AND WIND-UP RECORDS ANNOUNCE TRACK LISTING FOR OCTOBER 23RD RELEASE FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES
Rock band Seether, and Wind-up Records have announced the track listing of FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES. Seether’s third studio album for the label will be released on October 23, 2007. In just five weeks at radio, the lead single “Fake It,” is already number 4 on the Active Rock chart, and number 8 at Alternative. The complete track listing is “Like Suicide,” “Fake It,” “Breakdown,” “FMLYHM,” “Fallen,” “Rise Above This,” “No Jesus Christ,” “6 Gun Quota,” “Walk Away From The Sun,” “Eyes of the Devil,” “Don’t Believe,” and “Waste.”
The South African émigrés, who now live in the Los Angeles area, are coming off three consecutive gold certified studio albums. Their debut DISCLAIMER, was re-released following sales of over 500,000 copies with a DVD and bonus tracks which included the pop hit “Broken” from The Punisher feature film. This expanded version of the album titled DISCLAIMER II went on to sell 687,251 copies, making it the first debut album to be certified gold twice. The band’s follow-up KARMA & EFFECT, has sold 711,985 copies according to Soundscan since release. As a bridge between studio albums, Seether released the CD/DVD ONE COLD NIGHT, a live, acoustic offering captured in Philadelphia, PA. The new album titled FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES will be the band’s third U.S. studio recording of new material. Singer Shaun Morgan offered, “We didn't restrict ourselves to straight rock songs, and we were completely open to new ideas. This is not by any stretch of the imagination a concept album, nor is it a 'woe is me, I'm sober' album. We explored our melodic side a little bit more, and as a result, I believe this is our best collective effort to date. It may come as a surprise to some, but we feel like we've grown and are starting to find our place with regard to the sound of the band." Seether is Shaun Morgan (Principal Vocals / Guitar), Dale Stewart (Bass) and John Humphrey (Drums).
Seether will appear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Monday, October 29th, and on the nationally syndicated program Rockline the evening of October 22nd.

SCUM OF THE EARTH RETURNS WITH ‘SLEAZE FREAK’ DUE OUT OCTOBER 23 ON ECLIPSE RECORDS
A long time in the making, SLEAZE FREAK will be released October 23 on Eclipse Records, just in time for Halloween. Riggs' comrades in Scumdom are Brandon (bass, background vocals), Skylar (guitar), and Adrian Ost (drums).
“Bombshell From Hell” is SLEAZE FREAK’s first single, which is going for radio adds October 15. A performance video for the track—directed by Ron Najor (Angels & Airwaves)--was recently shot in Los Angeles and should invade TV and Internet airwaves within the next couple of weeks.
SLEAZE FREAK—which was written and produced by Riggs--contains 13 new songs (including “I Am Monster,” “Macabro Expectaculo” and “Corpse Grinders”), a cover and 28-page full-color booklet with exclusive artwork by self-proclaimed “Freakazoid” artist Paul Garner, plus a bonus 30-minute DVD packed with unbridled, no-holds-barred confessions by Riggs, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of Riggs and the band. Myspace.com diva and metal goddess, Metal Sanaz, also appears on the DVD, recording her vocals on “Love Pig.” She’s been posting video blogs of the band from recording sessions shot at Studio 2100 in Springfield, MO since June.
Most of the songs on the new album were recorded with Riggs' one-of-a-kind "Skin" guitar. It's a custom Fernandes Vertigo guitar wrapped in real pigskin that’s been sewn together. Riggs is planning to have various artists tattoo the pigskin in the future. Two tattoos currently decorate the guitar: one of a skull and crossbones and one with the words “fuck you” along the top which only Riggs can see when he’s playing the guitar.
“I wanted it to look like ‘Leatherface’ from ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ except on a guitar,” explains Riggs. “I’ll have it forever, so I’m planning on having a bunch of artists put tattoos on it. Hopefully it’ll be a few years before it starts to fall apart, although it’s already starting to smell and rot a little. But it’s still cool. It also kind of looks like Freddy Kruger’s face.”
He is also the owner and creator of another one-of-a-kind guitar made by Fernandes--a lucite one filled with fake blood, which can be seen in the “Bombshell From Hell” video. “I put it together with the president of Fernandes years ago,” says Riggs. “We messed around with water to make sure it wouldn’t spill out when I played it. It sounds amazing.”
The new music, 13 tracks of searing stripper-metal, capitalizes on the same formula which worked perfectly on BLAH...BLAH...BLAH..., but with more guitar solos, slick, percussive bass lines and Riggs' trademark blood-steeped lyrics. The first single, “Bombshell From Hell,” flaunts a hard-driving, instrumentally lacerating sound, which screams out to the world, letting us know that
SCUM OF THE EARTH are unleashed and getting their dead on once again.
For Riggs, making music with SCUM OF THE EARTH is like bringing things full circle, many times over. As he explains, “It’s hard starting over again, because I’ve been in bands for 17 years. I started off as a teenager in the band Screw in 1990. We even got to do our first record with Ministry, who were recording in the same studio as us. Then I was in Prong for about a year before meeting Rob
Zombie and joining his band. I went from sleeping in a van to a huge tour bus, back to a van and now I own my own tour bus! After I left Rob’s band I knew I had to start over again. I’m excited to have SCUM OF THE EARTH as my very own and I’m anxious to get out there and promote the hell out of our music. It’s such a good feeling to know that I don’t have to answer to anyone anymore except myself.”

DOLMAYAN TURNS SYSTEM OF A DOWN'S HIATUS INTO ONLINE COMIC BOOKS RETAIL VENTURE
With multi-Platinum rock band System of a Down currently on hiatus and his Scars on Broadway project with SOAD's Daron Malakian in the early stages, drummer John Dolmayan will fulfill his other passion of comic books and collectibles by launching Torpedo Comics
(http://www.torpedocomics.com/), an exclusively Internet-based retail store. Torpedo Comics goes live on November 1, 2007, and will boast some 15-million items - comic books, toys, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, superhero action figures and other comic book-related memorabilia, ranging in price from 99-cents to six-figures.
Dolmayan, who has been collecting comic books since he was 12, houses Torpedo Comics' inventory in a just-completed 30,000-square foot warehouse in Las Vegas, NV where he now lives. He employs a staff of 25 who catalogue and care for rare items like Sensation Comics issue #1 (the first solo series featuring Wonder Woman), just about every key issue of Marvel and DC comics including Marvel Comics' issue #1, multiple copies of Giant Size X-Men #1, plus superhero action figures from Marvel, X-Men, Superman, and Batman titles. Torpedo Comics will also offer original comic art, created between the 1940s and the present, by some 150 different artists, including Jim Lee, Art Adams, Bernie Wrightson, and Alejandro Gaza.
Dolmayan incorporated his love for comic books into the drum kit that he played during System of a Down's 2006 tour. Dolmayan contacted 22 of his favorite comic book artists, including Jim Lee, Simon Bisley, Kevin Eastman, Neal Adams and Bill Sienkiewicz, were each sent various pieces of the drum kit onto which they drew original illustrations.
As for Dolmayan and Malakian's Scars on Broadway venture, the two have been writing and rehearsing new material and plan to begin recording their debut album today, September 27, intended for a Summer 2008 release.
As drummer for System of a Down, Dolmayan shared in the band's global success of some 20-million albums sold, headlining sold-out arenas, having three consecutive #1 albums on the Billboard charts, four Grammy nominations and one win for Best Hard Rock Performance, all the while maintaining a high musical integrity, its core fan base, and its position as one of the most unique band in rock.

Production on The Dead Matter wrapped at 5am on September 2nd. "I couldn't be happier," said Director Edward Douglas. "We got everything I was hoping for and so much more. The entire cast and crew really delivered on all levels. This movie is going to resonate with a lot of horror fans - we really have something special here."
"The Dead Matter is definitely a character-driven horror film, so a lot rides on our actors. They are really came through for us. Between the performances by our veterans and our newer faces, audiences are going to be in for a real treat," said Douglas.

"It's an ambitious script. We were only able to complete it on time because of the tremendous talent, teamwork, and perseverance our crew exhibited."

Alter Bridge return with "Blackbird"
Out of the chaos, tumult, and uncertainty, Blackbird, Alter Bridge’s sophomore album, was born. In the time between One Day Remains and Blackbird, Alter Bridge have found a new label, tapped the songwriting skills of Myles Kennedy, and funded their own record. Putting all the chaos behind them, Alter Bridge are set to follow up their gold record with a new album that uses the full musical arsenal of the band, on October 9th.
Alter Bridge recruited producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Incubus, Chevelle, Three Days Grace). The recording process began in Nashville in February 2007. With no label to back the band they put up their own money to make the album they wanted and needed to make. The first single off Blackbird, “Rise Today” asks the personal question: Could this world be a better place? With a true collaboration between the former members of Creed and Myles Kennedy, Alter Bridge is ready to take their fans on an emotional journey that shows what combined efforts of the whole band can do.

SOUNDTRACK ALBUM TO THE REMAKE OF HALLOWEEN REVEALED
Vintage Tracks Include Recordings From KISS, Alice Cooper, Rush, Peter Frampton, Nazareth, Blue Oyster Cult, BTO, And More
Halloween rocks as writer/director Rob Zombie unleashes his terrifying remake of the classic film Halloween. Halloween: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Hip-O/UMe), released August 21, 2007, precedes the premiere of the film on more than 2,000 screens on August 31.
Halloween is a trick-or-treat goodie bag of audio clips from the film and ‘70s arena rock that turns sinister when heard in the film. From Nazareth’s “Love Hurts” (Top 10, 1976) and Peter Frampton’s “Baby I Love Your Way” (Top 20, 1975) to Iggy Pop’s live version of “1969” (1969), Alice Cooper’s “Only Women Bleed” (Top 20, 1975), Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” (1981) and Blue Oyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” (Top 20, 1976), Zombie mixes the expected with the surprising, just as he does with the film itself. Also included is composer Tyler Bates’ (Dawn Of The Dead, The Devil’s Rejects, Slither, 300) remake of John Carpenter’s iconic “Halloween” now titled “Halloween 2007.”
Rob Zombie, who previously wrote and directed The Devil’s Rejects (2000) and House Of 1000 Corpses (2004), offers an entirely new take on the highly successful series of Halloween films that began in 1978. Zombie turns back time to uncover the making of a pathologically disturbed, even cursed, child named Michael Myers.
Also heard in the film and on the soundtrack are “Let It Ride” (Top 30, 1974) from Bachman Turner Overdrive, “God Of Thunder” (1976) from KISS, The Misfits’ 1982 “Halloween II” (which was not connected with the film), a new version of “Mr. Sandman” recorded by Nan Vernon and produced by Tyler Bates, as well as the Bates’ composed “The Shape Stalks Laurie.”
Besides the soundtracks to House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, Zombie’s horror film musical exploits includes 1999’s innovative Rob Zombie Presents...Frankenstein, for which he created a mixtape of dialogue and score from the three classic original Frankenstein films.
Rob Zombie has sold over 15 million albums worldwide and continues to be one of Geffen Record’s top selling artists.

Corporate Punishment Records welcomes VICTORY PILL
Corporate Punishment is proud to announce the addition of one of the UK’s most unique and talented new bands to our roster in the form of VICTORY PILL, featuring ex-Pitchshifter/ Prodigy guitarist Jim Davies, and ex-Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper.
Victory Pill is the brainchild of JIM DAVIES, long considered one of the UK's most revered and respected guitarists, whose much documented first break came in the form of The Prodigy, where he shaped his style playing on several tracks on their breakthrough Fat Of The Land album, including Prodigy staples "Firestarter" and "Breathe", as well as supplying guitars on the bands next 2 records. Jim toured worldwide with the band including a headline slot at Reading 2001
"I started playing guitar, solely rock/metal. My turning point was when 'dance' bands like The Prodigy started using guitars. I loved all the squelchy synth sounds and textures which I started to replicate on the guitar. I also started to get more into effects and sounds which I think is when I developed a bit of a unique style for myself."
A fan and regular stage-diver at Pitchshifter gigs, Jim approached JS Clayden after a show in 1997. "We got talking and he suggested I add some guitars to some of their tunes. He gave me a demo of
www.pitchshifter.com. I added some guitars for a track called "Please Sir" after which the band invited me to Nottingham to record it. I ended up playing on 6 tracks and was asked to join the band", where he went on to co-write the albums Deviant and PSI .
Jim’s last gig for Pitchshifter was immortalized as the Bootlegged, Distorted live album. "My last gig with them was a massive high and I will always remember it as such."
A unique brand of Modern Rock with a dark, electronic side, VICTORY PILL came to fruition after Jim’s departure from PSI, when he teamed up with former Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper.
"I had a big writing session over a few months which resulted in nearly 20 tunes. I played the tracks to Kieron and realized that I needed to get a band together. I tried vocals for the first time and it seemed to work well". With Kieron on board as a Bass player and second vocalist, VICTORY PILL was formed.
With that pedigree, it is no surprise then that the result is a mammoth debut album of inventive and infectious sounds, like the explosive "Downfall" and "Another Clone" as well as the critically acclaimed first single "Worst Case Scenario".
VICTORY PILL will release their self-titled debut in the US and CANADA on 10/23 via CORPORATE PUNISHMENT/ KOCH, and in the UK on 10/1 via OTHERSIDE/ UNIVERSAL.
You can check out several tracks from the upcoming album on the band’s MYSPACE at

THE BLED RETURN WITH SILENT TREATMENT SEPTEMBER 25; Projekt Revolution, Fall Tours Confirmed
Arizona-based post-hardcore band, THE BLED, announce a September 25th release date for Silent Treatment. The five-piece band hits the road later this week on the Projekt Revolution tour and several fall tours are planned.
Silent Treatment is the band’s third full-length and was recorded earlier this year with producer Brian McTernan at the helm. The resulting 11-song set is an explosive document of The Bled’s trademark ability to join unexpected melodies and precision playing with the heaviest of rhythms. To get an early listen, the first track, “Shadetree Mechanics,” is currently airing on AOL’s Projekt Revolution radio channel and is also included on the Vagrant summer sampler being distributed free at the Vagrant Records booth along this summer’s Warped Tour.
Formed in 2001, The Bled soon set the standard for their genre with the release of Pass the Flask in 2003. Their breakout disc, 2005’s Found In The Flood, cemented the band’s reputation and critics proclaimed the band to be musically and lyrically ahead of their peers. SPIN called The Bled “Next Big Things”, while METAL EDGE said, “With The Bled, you get uncompromising brilliance and hostility in equal measure” and ALTERNATIVE PRESS included Silent Treatment as one of the “Most Anticipated 2007.”
THE BLED is: James Munoz (vocals), Jeremy Talley (guitar), Ross Ott (guitar), Darren Simoes (bass), and Mike Pedicone (drums).

KYLESA offers update, plan on writing new material
Savannah sludge-rockers KYLESA have offered an update on the band from home:
“We're happy to announce that our video for ‘Hollow Severer’ will be airing on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball very soon,” guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants says.
“You can view it now on YouTube. When viewed on Headbanger's Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video. The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye (Goatwhore, The Acacia Strain). They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future.
“In general news, we've toured pretty heavily the past few months supporting our latest release, ‘Time Will Fuse its Worth,’ and everything went rather well. We've got a few shows starting today with awesome bands (Torche, Made Out Of Babies and Mouth Of The Architect), but we plan on taking some time off to write new material as we have a few projects coming up. Fun, creative projects, so stay in touch and we'll keep you updated.”
Having already toured alongside Genghis Tron, The Hidden Hand, Lacuna Coil, Modern Life Is War and Converge as well as appearing at Los Angeles Murderfest 3.0 and South By Southwest, KYLESA continues to support 'Time Will Fuse Its Worth.' Recorded by KYLESA guitarist/vocalist Philip Cope, the record saw a late October release through Prosthetic Records.

Onesidezero announce headline tour dates
Los Angeles based Onesidezero have announced a short headlining tour. The dates will kick off July 20th in Santa Barbara, CA and go through August 3rd in Salt Lake City, UT. More dates will be announced shortly.
Onsidezero is currently supporting their recently released Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album, which was released through Corporate Punishment Records. The album is the long awaited follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2001 debut “Is This Room Getting Smaller”, which saw the group tour with the likes of Incubus, 311, Static-X, and Soulfly.
"Along with a lot of our fans, I am excited to finally see our new album out and on the store shelves. I just visited a local CD store (BackSide Records in Burbank, CA) and they had our CD next to the new Paul McCartney album in the front new releases. Being a huge Beatles fan that was just over the moon for me! The response on the new album has been great so far and we can't wait to hear feedback from those who are just picking the album up now. Feel free to let us know what you think on our comment section of our MySpace page."
The album’s first single, "My Confession", has been picking up steam at radio with the track receiving steady rotation on XM Radio’s Squizz channel and Los Angeles based KROQ.
Press has also jumped at the chance to praise the band's new album as Kotori Magazine said "features a cosmopolitan mixture dyed pink with a nice spike of post-Gen-X Rossdale and pre-Soundgarten Cornell while leaving plenty of room for what fans and future music listeners will know as that trademark onesidezero sound." While CelebrityCafe.com said that the album "might look like your typical hard rock record but if listeners sit back, analyze and take in each song, they will discover that is far from the truth."

DAN LILKER CALLS GET THRASHED "MANDATORY VIEWING" - NEW YORK CITY PREMIERE July 25
The makers of Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal are proud to announce the New York City premiere of the documentary will be Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00 pm at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.
The NYC screening will feature appearances by many legendary thrash artists including founding Overkill drummer and Get Thrashed Associate Producer Rat Skates, plus members of Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, Hades, Whiplash, Demolition Hammer, and others.
"Get Thrashed is a definitive and thorough treatise on the thrash metal movement," said Brutal Truth/Nuclear Assault bassist Danny Lilker. "If you missed out on thrash for whatever reason, this is mandatory viewing, and for all of us that were swept up in the fury of the storm, this will bring back memories of a time when new ground was being broken in metal music and the ante was upped considerably!"
"This screening in NYC is very special for me because it's where I had so many amazing thrash metal experiences - from nearly getting crushed at an Overkill show at The Ritz to seeing Slayer get banned from the Felt Forum to watching the epic Clash of the Titans tour hit Madison Square Garden," said Director Rick Ernst. "NYC is the place where my love and obsession for thrash metal came from."
Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal traces the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal, an extreme style of heavy metal popularized in the early 1980's by bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies and others. It is the story of the heaviest, hardest music of the 80s and early 90s as told by the bands that lived it, the fans and bands that grew up on it and by the artists that carry the "Thrash Metal" flag today. The documentary throws new light on an overlooked, yet incredible music scene and how it went from a simple rumbling in the underground to a loud, obnoxious and constant roar in the (almost) mainstream.
Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal will be screened on Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00 pm at Village East Cinema (181 2nd Avenue at 12th Street, New York, NY 10003). Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at
www.nyfimvideo.com.
Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal is produced by Saigon1515 Productions in association with Kundrat Productions. Get Thrashed was directed by Rick Ernst and the documentary's Associate Producer is Rat Skates, founder and former drummer of Overkill.

THE FUNERAL PYRE offers tour wrap up
Los Angeles blackened death metal band THE FUNERAL PYRE has just completed a month of touring - first on the "Welcome To Hell" tour with As Eden Burns and Cerberus, then on the "Thrash And Burn" tour with labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY and fellow SoCalers Antagonist. THE FUNERAL PYRE has offered this update from their Southern California home:
"THE FUNERAL PYRE, would collectively like to say thank you to all the bands we toured with this summer and to all the bands that we were able to share the stage with. It was an honor. Also, thank you to all who came out to support us, or if you heard us for the first time. We had a wonderful time meeting new people again and of course thrashing in a ton of cities. We hope that you, the fans, enjoyed what we brought to the table. With that being said, we'll be playing some local shows throughout the fall, maybe another tour, we're not sure yet. But we will be playing shows and working on new material...Which brings us here.
"We have been working on the new record in between shows, tours, and our day jobs. We are hoping that with this record we can take whatever sound we have to the next level. But only time will tell. Some song titles we have thus far include: 'Thieves,' 'Wounds,' and 'Devourer.' The album title is floating around, but it will take shape in the near future. We have about 5 songs done and are going to write more. By the end of the year we will be playing these songs live, or a few of them. So if you like what you hear, please, let us know. Other than that, we will recharge our batteries, get the riffs flowing and start yet another excursion to finish our third full length record."
THE FUNERAL PYRE continues to support 'The Nature of Betrayal,' which saw a March 2007 re-release via Prosthetic Records through a distribution deal with Creator Destructor Records. The band has already been hard at work supporting the record, having played this year's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and California Metalfest, as well as touring with Light This City, As Eden Burns, Apiary, Cerberus and Dryline among others.

SEETHER RETURN WITH NEW STUDIO ALBUM ON WIND-UP RECORDS
Rock band Seether have announced the release of their third studio album via Wind-up Records on October 23, 2007. This expanded version of the album titled DISCLAIMER II went on to sell 678,461 copies, making it the first debut album to be certified gold twice. The band’s follow-up KARMA & EFFECT, has sold 703,680 copies according to Soundscan since release. As a bridge between studio albums, Seether released the CD/DVD ONE COLD NIGHT, a live, acoustic offering captured in Philadelphia, PA. The new album titled FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES will be released on October 23, 2007.
Singer / Guitarist Shaun Morgan shared, “we've been working very hard on this album, and it's been quite some time since we've had a single at radio, so we're extremely excited to be back in the saddle, so to speak. We basically whittled down over 50 songs, to our favourite 15, and we've adopted an 'anything goes' attitude for this album. We didn't restrict ourselves to straight rock songs, and we were completely open to new ideas. This is not by any stretch of the imagination a concept album, nor is it a 'woe is me, I'm sober' album. We explored our melodic side a little bit more, and as a result, I believe this is our best collective effort to date. It may come as a surprise to some, but we feel like we've grown and are starting to find our place with regards to the sound of the band. "
Few artists over the past five years have performed as many dates across The United States as Seether has. Outside of when they are writing or recording, the band averages over 275 performances annually. Once out of the studio, the band will join Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin for an arena tour which will take them through the release of FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES.
Bassist Dale Stewart offered, “We're essentially a touring band. We love nothing more than to take the songs to the clubs, and the people, and perform them to the best of our ability. We've been off the road for the best part of a year now, so we're itching to get back out and entertain our fans! It's always incredibly exciting when you head out on a brand new tour, in support of a brand new album. It's new for us, and it's new for the fans, so it becomes a new show, for people who have had the chance to see us before. This is our favourite time of any cycle!"

Crematorium, Infernaeon team up for summer tour
Prosthetic Records labelmates CREMATORIUM and INFERNAEON will team up along with Sons of Azrael to provide support for Pyrexia's forthcoming headlining run. The two bands are each supporting new material - INFERNAEON's debut record, 'A Symphony of Suffering,' was released earlier this year through Prosthetic Records, while CREMATORIUM will showcase new songs from the band's forthcoming full length and will continue supporting 2005's 'The Process of Endtime,' which just got pressed as picture disc vinyl and is available for purchase
HERE.
"When we were offered this tour I was like a kid that just found his dad's gun," INFERNAEON vocalist Brian Werner says. "Pyrexia was one of my favorite bands for many years. As a matter of fact, their old singer, Keith DeVito, was my vocal mentor...When we went to go record 'A Symphony of Suffering,' he was my first choice as a guest musician for the song March of Death and he really made that song come alive. I remember seeing these guys like 8 years ago in at Milwaukee Metalfest in this theater, once they got done playing the first 4 rows of seats had been ripped out from the floor and there were sufficient injuries and I thought to myself Goddamn that was a fucking show. Since then I have never seen a band play with that kind of intensity so it's a fucking honor to be sharing the stage with them."

THE MINOR TIMES hits stores, streaming e-card available
Pennsylvania's hardcore stalwarts THE MINOR TIMES have uploaded an e-card for the band's brand new album, 'Summer of Wolves,' hit stores June 26 through Prosthetic Records. The e-card features the album in its entirety and showcases the record's artwork. Click
HERE to check it out.
In other THE MINOR TIMES news: "Relapse records is going to be releasing a limited edition 7" with us and our friends Rosetta," the band says. "The record will feature two brand new tracks from us not available anywhere else. If you're not familiar with Rosetta, head over to their page
[http://www.myspace.com/rosetta], those guys are incredible. Needless to say, we're pretty floored to have a record coming out on Prosthetic and a 7" on Relapse with a great band."
In addition, THE MINOR TIMES recently parted ways with guitarist Lou Millinghausen on good terms. "Lou has been playing with us for some time now and was instrumental in the song writing process for 'Summer of Wolves," the band previously said. "We love the guy to death and will miss him a lot. Instead of searching for a replacement, we've simply decided that Tim will now handle all the guitar duties in the band. We have been practicing with this arrangement for over a month now and feel very comfortable with the idea of presenting it everywhere this entire summer. We've got a ton of shows coming up followed by four weeks of tour with our good friends Engineer."
The release of 'Summer of Wolves,' is the follow-up to 'Making Enemies,' which saw a 2004 release via Level Plane Records and was re-released in 2005 through Prosthetic Records. Producer Vince Ratti (Bury Your Dead, A Life Once Lost) returned again to record the record with the band to record the new record last winter and will be mastered by Alan Douches (Shadows Fall, Converge).

DAN SARTAIN - new dates, MP3
DAN SARTAIN has been confirmed to open select dates for The White Stripes on the upcoming North American leg of their tour which begins June 24th in Burnaby, BC. Immediately following dates w/The White Stripes, Dan Sartain will then embark on a tour of the US with The Detroit Cobras & The Willowz.
Sartain, a Birmingham, Alabama native, played his first live show at 13, and released his first full-length, Dan Sartain vs. The Serpientes (Swami) in 2005. Rolling Stone magazine recently named Sartain a “New Artist To Watch” and said, “Join Dan Sartain…modulates classically tuneful confessionals with jerky post-punk weirdness, a dollop of rockabilly, and whimsical lyrics about strange dreams, coy little girls, and boys with guns.” Sartain commented in the same article, “I just tell people I sound like Chris Isaak on acid, hooked up to jumper cables…”
Previously available on Swami Records, Join Dan Sartain is now being marketed by Vagrant in the U.S. and Canada. One Little Indian released the album in the UK and Sartain has recently been profiled in Mojo, Plan B, ID and The Guardian and three of the tracks from Join Dan Sartain have charted on the UK Independents chart.

The Used Vocalist Bert McCracken Undergoing Surgery
Bert McCracken has just been advised to undergo surgery due to the fact that he has developed a node on one of his vocal chords. Consequently, the band has been forced to cancel their shows on all upcoming dates during June and July, including the Van's Warped Tour. Doctors have recommended treatment as well as rest without singing and are expecting a full recovery. He will be able to sing again in about five weeks.
The band is incredibly disappointed but promised to return to touring in the USA in early September with headlining dates. "Kevin Lyman and the Van's Warped tour have been amazing supporters of our band and we are truly saddened that we won't be able to perform on this year's tour," states Quinn Allman, The Used’s guitarist.

GET THRASHED: THE STORY OF THRASH METAL SCREENINGS IN SAN FRANSISCO AND NEW YORK CITY
Following successful screenings in 8 cities and already taking home 3 awards, including the SAFILM Grand Prize in San Antonio’s Underground Film Festival, the makers of
Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal are proud to announce that the documentary will screen in the thrash metal strongholds of San Francisco and New York City.
Get Thrashed will screen Saturday, July 14 in the Frozen Film Festival in San Francisco and Wednesday, July 25 in the International Independent Film & Video Festival in New York City.
"Get Thrashed is the definitive look at where I came from musically,” said Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. “Watching this film takes me back to the great old days of 1987 when Metal was METAL and hair bands were scared. Comprehensive, informative and often hilarious, especially the clothes, Get Thrashed is a must see no matter what kind of music you're into.”
Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal traces the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal, an extreme style of heavy metal popularized in the early 1980’s by bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies and others. It is the story of the heaviest, hardest music of the 80s and early 90s as told by the bands that lived it, the fans and bands that grew up on it and by the artists that carry the “thrash metal” flag today. The documentary throws new light on an overlooked, yet incredible music scene and how it went from a simple rumbling in the underground to a loud, obnoxious and constant roar in the (almost) mainstream. The trailer and more information can be found at
www.GetThrashed.com. The documentary is produced by Saigon1515 Productions in association with Kundrat Productions.
Get Thrashed was directed by Rick Ernst and the documentary’s Associate Producer is Rat Skates, founder and former drummer of Overkill.
"When I heard there was a documentary being made about thrash metal, I figured it was about time someone paid homage to a genre that has influenced so many people in so many different ways,” said Exodus guitarist Gary Holt. “Rick Ernst has managed to capture the spirit of a metal phenomenon while addressing its influence on today's metal scene. I for one could not be more fired up!"
Get Thrashed will screen on Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 pm at the Roxie Cinema (located at 3117 16th St at Valencia, San Francisco, CA 94103). Tickets are $8.50 and can be purchased at
www.frozenfilmfestival.com. The film will also screen on Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00 pm at Village East Cinema (located at 181 2nd Avenue at 12th Street, New York, NY 10003). Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at
www.nyfimvideo.com.

Ripping up the stage with a hugely diverse range of ground breaking acts, the band refuse to be pigeonholed into any one genre. So far Dikreet have shared the stage with Deicide, The Acacia Strain, Napalm Death, Despised Icon, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, Origin, Into The Moat, Psyopus, Ed Gein, All Else Failed, Pissing Razors, Anal Blast, Cannae, Incantation and many more. Blabbermouth says, "meet the new kids on the American death metal block."
The Somatic Defilement is the full-length debut from Knoxville's Whitechapel. Hitting stores July 31, the album, mastered by Alan Douches (Nile, The Red Chord, The Acacia Strain), fuses together the sheer brutality of death metal, the chaos and technicality of grindcore, the bludgeoning heaviness of sludge, with an added dash of groove on top. A noted characteristic is Whitechapel’s three guitar assault; without a doubt and impressive apocalyptic sound. A video for the song album track “Vicer Exerciser” is available at the band's MySpace page.

Teenage brothers win autographed Type O Negative guitar in SPV Youtube Contest!
Over two months ago, SPV USA announced a contest which asked fans to
submit homemade commercials for Type O Negative’s new CD “Dead
Again” and post them on their YouTube.com pages. After fans submitted their
masterpieces, a winner was announced on June 20. This video shows how
enthusiasm and creativity sometimes overpower professional filmmaking!
There were some great runners up (which are posted in a blog on
Myspace.com/SPVUSA) but the winning commercial can be viewed at
youtube.com/spvamerica.
So who are these guys with a slew of comedic amateur videos that have
won over everyone at SPV? Two brothers from Rossville, Kansas named Cody
and Nathan, ages 19 and 14. With only a year of video experience under
their belts, they have a knack for comedy, which certainly comes across
in their youtube videos which can be seen at Youtube.com/crazywolf1.

YAKUZA Transmutations reveals artwork, new music
Chicago's genre-bending YAKUZA has posted artwork for the band's forthcoming record,
Transmutations, online here, where pre-orders for the record are also available. Prosthetic Records has also posted a brand new
Yakuza track online; entitled "Egocide," the track will appear on
Transmutations, which will see an August 7 release through Prosthetic Records. Prior to that, YAKUZA will host a listening party for
Transmutations July 31 at the Liar's Club in Chicago.
"Exploration, experimentation, riding the line between the familiar and the foreign; the essential elements for YAKUZA have already been established,” frontman Bruce Lamont says about the band's sound. “We are not interested in creating music that’s easily definable. Our roots are firmly planted in metal - yes, but like life, the sounds here are not cut and dry. At times this record can be uplifting, cruel, celebratory and just downright fuckin’ mean."
Utilizing producer and established multi-instrumentalist Sanford Parker (Rwake, Pelican, Minsk) for the recording of
Transmutations, YAKUZA couldn’t be happier with the album’s end sound: “Sanford was great to work with,” Lamont says. “We really feel he has refined his craft over the past half a dozen recordings he's done. He’s known the band for a long time and helped with our last release, so he is already aware of our studio tendencies. With him the process felt almost effortless.”
YAKUZA began demoing new material on February 28 at Semifour Studios in the band's hometown. 'Transmutations' was produced by Sanford Parker (Pelican, Minsk, Rwake), who made a guest appearance on the band's last release, 'Samsara'.

ALL THAT REMAINS’ “THE FALL OF IDEALS” RISES: ALBUM BREAKS 100,000 IN SALES; LIVE DVD SET FOR OCTOBER RELEASE
Prosthetic Records recording artists ALL THAT REMAINS have reached a major sales milestone – their third album
The Fall of Ideals has surpassed the 100,000 mark in sales.
“Just shy of a year ago we put out a record called The Fall Of Ideals and ever since that first week we have been amazed at the reaction people have had,” ALL THAT REMAINS frontman Phil Labonte says. “This week we hit a milestone in ATR's career with 100,000 copies sold! We have been working towards this goal for a long time. I think Hatebreed was the first band that I was actually friends with that broke that number with 'Satisfaction...'. I remember thinking how huge it seemed and it still seems enormous, especially in today’s musical climate. Thank you to everyone who picked up the disc, who told their friends, who sent us love on MySpace, who posts on our message board, who started fan sites, and everyone who came out to shows to hang out and support ATR. We are gonna hit a few new places this year and lots of places we've been before. So come out, say what's up, and get into it!”
Released last July, The Fall of Ideals garnered ALL THAT REMAINS serious praise from the press. Metal bible Kerrang said the album, “bears all the hallmarks of a classic…the musicianship is stunning…ruthlessly precise and powerful”, while the band’s hometown paper, Springfield, Mass.’ The Republican, referred to the album as “potent…a wild ride, one that’s metal to the core without abandoning musical virtuosity and a keen sense of melody.”
Since ALL THAT REMAINS’ first album was released in 2002, the band has grown in leaps and bounds in every arena. They’ve gone from playing opening slots to headlining and selling out their very own tour this year and playing major rock festivals domestically and abroad - Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground, Wacken: Open Air. The first single from The Fall of Ideals, “This Calling” could be heard all over the country on hard rock stations and the corresponding video could be seen on MTV and Fuse. The song also appeared in the major motion picture, “Saw 3.” “Six,” another track from the album is featured in the hit video game, “Guitar Hero 2.” ALL THAT REMAINS’ presence on MySpace.com has increased significantly – their number of friends has more than quadrupled in the past year alone.
ALL THAT REMAINS will soon experience another first: the release of a live concert DVD in October. The DVD will feature live performances from the band’s recent show at Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, as well as from their upcoming show in Baltimore at The Recher Theatre on July 12. ATR fans will also be treated to tons of bonus goodies on the new DVD, including behind the scenes footage, band and fan interviews, a live photo slideshow and all of the band’s videos.
In other ALL THAT REMAINS news, July will find the hard-working band filming a video for the third single from The Fall of Ideals, “Not Alone”, in between tour dates. Director Soren will handle the shoot, having already produced videos for Unearth and Light This City. After a handful of domestic tour dates (including a special appearance on the Sounds of the Underground tour), the band heads to Mexico and then Europe through August, where they will pay several major festivals including the Wacken: Open Air Festival in Germany.
Fan pages on MySpace from across the world have started sprouting on the social networking site, including sites from
Japan, Germany,
Mexico, and the United States.

VELVET REVOLVER TO UNLEASH SECOND CD, LIBERTAD, ON JULY 3
"The feel, the energy of Libertad is about the eternal struggle for freedom -- personal and social freedoms."
So says Velvet Revolver's frontman Scott Weiland in describing the band's forthcoming album Libertad, scheduled for release July 3 on RCA Records. It will be preceded by the track "She Builds Quick Machines."
"Libertad has soul," Weiland continued. "What we're trying to say on a musical and lyrical level is clearer this time. The songs may have started out being very personal but they took on a more universal truth as they were nurtured by the five-headed beast that is Velvet Revolver."
The band is Scott Weiland (lead vocals), Slash (guitars), Dave Kushner (guitars), Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums). The members each bring a wealth of rock history to the band: Weiland fronted Stone Temple Pilots and Slash, McKagan and Sorum were the heart of Guns N' Roses. Kushner, formerly of Wasted Youth, was in McKagan's band Loaded.
"The songs took on a life of their own in pursuit of groove. When it was nearly done, we realized the idea of freedom kept coming up. Serendipity hit when Duff came to a session wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with 'Libertad' and Slash found a coin struck with 'Libertad'. It all added up to naming the album Libertad—which is Spanish for freedom."
Produced by Brendan O'Brien, Libertad is the follow-up to Contraband, VR's debut album, released in June 2004, which earned three million in sales worldwide, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #1 and was awarded a Grammy for the lead track, "Slither."
"O'Brien really helped us challenge ourselves on a musical level. Libertad definitely rocks, but there are a lot more textures and everyone really raised the bar on their skills. It just goes places the first album didn't go."
Between Contraband and Libertad, Velvet Revolver toured the world and supported each other through personal struggles, becoming even more tightly bonded as brothers-in-arms. "We toured for two years and got really close in the making of this album."
The road warriors will spend June on tour in Europe with an emphasis on festival appearances, followed by a Canadian swing, and a big American tour at the end of the summer.

3 MILE SCREAM VIDEO FOR "OUR BLACKENED SUN" POSTED ONLINE
3 Mile Scream have posted their Chad Archibald (Arise and Ruin) directed video for the track "Our Blackened Sun" online at the following location:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA6VpWafgrg
"Shooting the video was such an amazing experience to take part in. The director was very easy going and was open to all of our ideas and input," says 3 Mile frontman Matt McGachy. "The only part which was a bit unpleasant was the after effects of shooting for ten hours straight at full tilt. All of our bodies hated us, and they definitely were not shy about letting us know about it."
"The shoot made us realize just how much work goes into the creating a video. It tested our limits physically having to go full tilt, take after take to get it all on film, says 3 Mile Scream bassist Mike Marino. “It was a great experience, the video looks sick and we look forward sharing it with everyone."
The track is taken from the group’s recently released Corporate Punishment debut album, A Prelude To Our Demise. The album has prompted a plethora of critical acclaim from critics and fans, including Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe who described the band as “Artfull y orchestrated brutality” and Chris "OJ" Ojeda of Byzantine who said, "Not since STRAPPING YOUNG LAD has Canada had a band put the M in Metal like 3 Mile Scream. Their live show is unparalleled."

PROTEST THE HERO ENTER THE STUDIO
PROTEST THE HERO recently finished writing their second full-length album and will begin recording this weekend with producer Julius “Juice” Butty at Toronto’s Silo recording studio. The band expects to wrap up by August 1st with a fall release date planned.
The band formed seven years ago when the members were just 14-years old and released their highly acclaimed U.S. debut on Vagrant, Kezia, last April. Decibel said of the disc, “Kezia is one of the most exciting start-to-finish amalgamations of thrash/power metal and punk/hardcore I’ve stumbled across in ages. Possibly ever.” “The musicianship here dazzles.”
Protest The Hero spent most of the last year on the road, performing every date on the Vans Warped Tour and opening for bands such as Dragonforce, Trivium, and All That Remains among others. The band recently shot their third video from Kezia for the song “The Divine Suicide of K” with director Colin Minihan and expect to debut the video in the coming weeks.
Lyricist and bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi issued the following statement about the upcoming release:
“The new album is a further attempt towards bridging the distance between technicality and musicality. We hope to use organized and creative songwriting to explore, both sonically and thematically, the emotions, ironies and realities of our surroundings. The songs probe the paradoxical nature of everyday life- chiefly that aggressive music is an adequate vessel to convey not only feelings of anger and frustration, but also wonder, pathos and optimism.”
Protest The Hero is: Rody Walker (lead vocals), Tim Millar (guitar, vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitars, vocals, piano), Moe Carlson (drums), and Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass guitar, vocals).

who was already a Journey fan step in on a moment’s notice during the
Def Leppard tour to help us out. Jeff was always the consummate
professional and we hope that he remains a friend of the band in the
future. We just felt it was time to go in a different direction."
Journey--Neal Schon (guitar), Ross Valory (bass), Jonathan Cain
(keyboards) and Deen Castronovo (drums)—is taking the rest of 2007
off to spend time with their families, write new songs and map out
plans for 2008.

Drowning Pool to testify to the U.S. Congress
Drowning Pool, platinum and award-winning hard rock band from Dallas, Texas, have been gathering a prolific buzz about them recently throughout the online community in the political areas of the internet, and from those who are concerned with issues that surround the American troops currently abroad. The band recently completed the USO tour and came back with sincere concerns surrounding the return of the soldiers upon their return home from the middle-east.
“Once home in the United States, we connected with Iraq/Afghanistan war veterans who have returned home,” said Stevie Benton, Bassist and Founding Member of Drowning Pool. “Though back on safe shores, these individuals are facing a steep uphill battle to reclaim their health after facing the trauma of war.”
Recently, the office of the public liaison at The White House received a letter written by Drowning Pool addressing the issues of healthcare and concerns for the troops on their return home, which was placed in the President’s personal reading file. Several interior cabinets of The White House have been opened to the team of Drowning Pool. One of which contacted Congress directly and are now awaiting a Congressional hearing date, where Drowning Pool will testify to the majority and minority parties of the U.S. Congress, addressing the facts of treatment of the American soldiers upon their return home from the Middle East. The band hopes to accomplish a shift of political and national attention toward the problems at hand concerning the well-being of those who fight and give their lives for the United States. Drowning Pool is preparing for their meeting with Congress by asking their fans, friends, and families to sign their online petition regarding the issue (the link is at the bottom of this article).
The White House is not the only government outlet that has given attention to the letter written by the band. Several of the 2008 Presidential candidates have accepted the letter and issue with open arms from Drowning Pool.
“We are seeking an opportunity to testify before Congress on behalf of these troops and veterans who need mental, emotional and medical support services,” said Benton. That goal will be accomplished with the return of Congress from over the weekend as the calendars and agendas in Washington are being marked to welcome Drowning Pool during the course of the next 6 months.
Drowning Pool are currently touring and preparing for the release of their new record, Full Circle, which features the single “Soldiers” that they wrote for the troops after being inspired by them on the USO tour. If you would like to support Drowning Pool’s efforts for the American troops over seas, regardless of your political denomination, please follow the link and sign the petition online.

METAL GOD ROB HALFORD SIGNS ON FOR CELEBRITY INTERVIEW AT 2007 NXNE
Strap on your leathers, rev up your engines, and get ready to bow down before The Metal God. North By Northeast Music and Film Festival, Canada’s “Best New Music” festival, is electrified to announce that heavy metal maverick Rob Halford has signed on for a celebrity interview on Saturday, June 9, from 2 pm to 3 pm in Regency Room C at the Holiday Inn On King (370 King West). (Interviewer TBA.)
Widely referred to as ‘The Metal God,’ Halford helped bring heavy metal out of the dank, dark bars of the world and into the mainstream as the leather-clad, Harley Davidson-riding frontman for mega-group Judas Priest. His distinctive voice and aggressively stylized way of dressing helped solidified the sound and image of heavy metal, an image embraced by musicians and metal heads to this day.
Halford, who first departed Judas Priest in 1992 after 20 years of service behind the mic to form other successful bands, including Fight, Halford and Two, will be bringing more than just his larger-than-life persona and musical experience to the 13th annual NXNE festival, being held June 7-10. Halford also has some exciting news to pass your way.
This summer marks the release of Halford Metal God Essentials - Volume 1, Halford's first Greatest Hits package of his solo career. Thirteen dynamic tracks from the man's Fight and Halford projects have been remastered and presented along with the Halford band's first new songs in more than four years: Forgotten Generation and Drop Out. Later this year and early 2008, three new 5.1 Rob Halford films depicting life inside the bands Fight and Halford will also be released. If all this weren’t enough high-voltage news for you, Judas Priest, with The Metal God at the helm, will launch another world tour in 2008 in support of their new concept album.
No doubt, Halford will have plenty to say about all of this and more when he sits down with our special guest interviewer.
For well over three decades, Rob Halford has stood firmly at the top of the metal heap as the genre's definitive vocalist and ambassador of mayhem. We at NXNE would like to give you the opportunity, if only for a moment, to stand up there with him.
NXNE, Canada's "Best New Music" Festival, takes place in Toronto from June 7-10, with 450 bands playing more than 30 different venues through four days and nights.

THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD reveals cover art for Malice; pre-orders available
South Carolina's THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD have unveiled cover art for the band's forthcoming effort, 'Malice.' The album, the band's second full-length and the follow-up to 2005's 'Bloodlust,' has been slated for an August 21 release through Prosthetic Records. Cover artwork, again designed by artist Paul Romano (The Red Chord, Mastodon), can be viewed
HERE, where the album is also available for pre-order in two exclusive CD / t-shirt packages.
Bringing Romano back on board again for artwork, the band also tapped producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Vital Remains, Goatwhore) to record 'Malice' at Mana Studios earlier this spring. This will mark the debut of vocalist Nate Johnson (ex-Premonitions of War, ex-Deadwater Drowning) with THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD. Johnson is currently making his live debut with the band on a current European tour with Dead To Fall, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and Ion Dissonance, before the band returns to America later this month to support The Red Chord in June and July. Also playing that tour are Despised Icon, All Shall Perish, See You Next Tuesday.
"We are extremely happy to have Nate on board with us as the new vocalist and frontman for TTEOTD," guitarist Justin Longshore previously said. "There's no doubt in my mind that Nate will deliver on 'Malice' as well as on tour. We'd like to thank everyone for their submissions that they sent us. There are some really killer vocalists out there and it was definitely a tough decision. Thanks to all of the fans for all of the support in this situation."

Static-X Cannibalize Ozzfest
Los Angeles metal band Static-X will join the 2007 Ozzfest, the annual hard rock extravaganza created by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. This year’s 24-city tour, which features Ozzy Osbourne, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, and many others, launches July 12th in Seattle, with tickets being made available free to fans for the first time in the event’s 12-year history.
Static-X are currently on tour in the U.S. in support of their fifth album, Cannibal, which debuted at Number 36 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart, selling more than 30,000 its first week out. Released by Reprise Records on April 3rd, the album has now sold nearly 70,000 and remains in the Top 200, solidifying the band’s place as one of the metal’s pre-eminent artists.
“From the recording process to the way it turned out, the new album feels old-school for us,” says frontman Wayne Static, who co-produced
Cannibal with John Travis (Kid Rock). “I think it’s the most metal record we’ve ever made, and it’s arguably the heaviest record we’ve ever made. The last few albums found us going in a slightly different direction; this one makes no compromises.”
Cannibal’s first single, “Destroyer,” is receiving airplay on more than two dozen stations including influential active rock outlets KUPD in Phoenix and WRIF in Detroit. The video for “Destroyer” was directed by The Butcher Brothers, whose feature film The Hamiltons was released last week on the DVD compilation 8 Horror Films to Die For by Lions Gate Films.
In addition, a series of behind-the-scenes web clips on the making of Cannibal have been added to the band’s MySpace page at
myspace.com/staticx. A computer-based viral video game, featuring the band members as cannibals, has also been made available to fans at
www.warnerbrosrecords.com/cannibal.

I bear testimony to the atrocities imposed upon my people. I can empathize with others in the same position. That is why I participate in the Darfur demonstrations, and I do so through my music."
ONESIDEZERO is gearing up for the release of their Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album, which is slated for June 5th, 2007 release by Corporate Punishment.
"The last 5 to 6 years have been some of the most insane and most amazing times of my life. Onesidezero as a band have grown so much together in this time. We went through the ups and downs of life and after some new demos under our belts started the rebuilding process of Onesidezero," says Sultanian. "It was really exciting to bring in all these news songs into th e recording studio after working on them at home and at rehearsal for over a year. Hope everyone digs them as much as we do!"
The band released their Maverick Records debut Is This Room Getting Smaller in 2001, which produced Active Rock singles "Instead Laugh" and "New World Order". Subsequent US tours with Incubus, 311, Soulfly, Soil and Static-X made them an instant fan favorite.
The band is currently previewing two new tracks on the group's MySpace account for fans to preview material from their forthcoming new album at

Nikki Sixx shares The Heroin Diaries
Nikki Sixx is back with an unflinching biography and new album, "The Heroin Diaries." The album hits stores on August 20th and is followed by the book on September 25th.
Nikki Sixx rose to fame when he started Mötley Crüe with friend Tommy Lee in 1981. The band went to the top of the charts and dominated rock and roll in the early 80s. Nikki Sixx and Mötley Crüe lived the sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle that people could hardly imagine. "The Heroin Diaries" chronicles a year in Nikki's life and tells the story of being in the biggest rock band in the world all the while standing on the brink of destruction with a punishing heroin addiction. If you like Mötley Crüe and the best-selling book "The Dirt" you will love "The Heroin Diaries" book and the soundtrack.
The soundtrack that accompanies the book features 12 tracks, one for each chapter of the book. The album's first single is the track "Life is Beautiful." The track is available for download on The Heroin Diaries Myspace page for a limited time.

To hear Fiends go to Fuse.tv and check out this week’s installment of The
Worm
Fiends, the second album from Chasing Victory, showcases both their hard-edged guitars and a brute force vocal performance from Adam Harrell. “We All have fiends living inside ourselves; some are dormant and hibernating, others are alive and vicious,” says Adam. The Camilla, Georgia 5-piece has smashed the screamo label they were given for their first album, and instead created a dynamic balance of brutality and melody.

SOULIDIUM brings make for an addicting strong new combination.
SOULIDIUM, led by Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Michael McKnight and with the aid of a popular social networking site, found guitarist AJ Maldonado and Eric Beausoleil. Drummer Danny Cayocca, a star drum line instructor relocated from Springfield, Mo, and guitarist Jake Jaden, who jumped at the challenge of switching his instrument in only one week, exceeded all of the band's expectations.
CHILDREN OF CHAOS, produced by Danny Bernini (Blondie, Notorious B.I.G., P. Diddy), Michael McKnight and Bonnie Milner (Vocal Production) will be in-stores on June 19 on McKnight's ADA distributed imprint KnightVision via Adrenaline Music Group.
